Macula Dog flyerJuly 2024 Flyer designed for New York group Macula Dog’s show in Detroit with local acts Pure Rave, Cherriel, Joo Won Park, and Sarah Swillum. For this one I took a playful collage approach with elements inspired by each of the artists’ music, notably Macula Dog, Pure Rave, and Joo Won Park. Macula Dog’s music is loud, experimental, and irreverent with their latest record containing heavily filtered and manipulated pop songs. Pure Rave is a Detroit experimental group that specializes in real-time sampling from broken records, using found objects like bowls and glue to form new sounds. Joo Won Park is a professor of music technology at Waybe State University in Detroit. Despite the official title, he works with keyboards and toys to compose playful and delicate electroacoustic sounds.
